Holds the water in the mix
Bleed, measured to ASTM C940 at that 3% addition with OPC grade 53 cement: in a neat grout at a 0.7 water–cement ratio it falls from 11.35% to 5.53%, and in a sand grout at the same ratio from 3.86% to 1.38%.
Flows where you pump it
It improves plasticity, so the grout flows easily, and it is designed to work with retarders and accelerators. In an accelerated sand grout at a 0.7 water–cement ratio, bleed to ASTM C940 is 2.16% without it and 1.11% with it at 3% by weight of cement.
Lowers the permeability
In a cement–bentonite mix it acts as a hydraulic barrier and waterproofs the grout: permeability coefficient 10−8 cm/s, measured after 7 days.

VodaSeal™-Grout, the grade and its figures
One powder grade, added at 3% by weight of the cement. The permeability is measured after 7 days for use as a cement–bentonite mix, and the fluid loss is a slurry test at 64 kg/m³, not at the 3% addition.

What is VodaSeal™-Grout used for?
Grouting with cement: tunnel linings, dam foundations, pile structures and soil stabilisation. Added to the grout, it helps it flow, cuts bleed, lowers permeability and makes the grout watertight. It comes as a powder only.
How much goes into a cement grout?
3% of the cement's weight: 3 kg for every 100 kg of cement. One tonne of VodaSeal™-Grout treats about 33 tonnes of cement.
How much does it reduce bleed?
In a neat cement grout at a 0.7 water–cement ratio, bleed falls from 11.35% to 5.53% with 3% VodaSeal™-Grout. It lowers bleed in sand grouts too.
Does it work with retarders and accelerators?
Yes. It is designed to work with cement, retarders and accelerators, and it still lowers bleed when an accelerator is in the mix.
What permeability can I expect?
Down to 10−8 cm/s, measured on a cement–bentonite mix after 7 days. Water quality affects it, so tell us about your site water.
