VodaSeal™-Grout: bentonite powder for cement grouts
Treated bentonite with a high montmorillonite content, made to go into cement grout. It reduces bleed, lowers permeability and helps the grout flow.
Description
VodaSeal™-Grout is treated bentonite with a high montmorillonite content, designed to be used with cement for all grouting applications. Added to the grout, it reduces the bleed rate, improves plasticity so the grout flows easily, lowers permeability, and gives hydraulic-barrier and waterproofing properties. It is designed to work with retarders and accelerators. It is made by clay extrusion, with the chemical treatment closely controlled.

What is VodaSeal™-Grout used for?
Grouting with cement: tunnel linings, dam foundations, pile structures and soil stabilisation. Added to the grout, it helps it flow, cuts bleed, lowers permeability and makes the grout watertight.
How much goes into a cement grout?
3% of the cement's weight: 3 kg for every 100 kg of cement. One tonne of VodaSeal™-Grout treats about 33 tonnes of cement.
How much does it reduce bleed?
In a neat cement grout at a 0.7 water–cement ratio, bleed falls from 11.35% to 5.53% with 3% VodaSeal™-Grout. It lowers bleed in sand grouts too.
Does it work with retarders and accelerators?
Yes. Its properties are designed to work well with cement, retarders and accelerators. With an accelerator in the mix, it still lowers the bleed of both neat and sand grouts.
What permeability can I expect?
Down to 10−8 cm/s, measured on a cement–bentonite mix after 7 days. Water quality affects it, so tell us about your site water.
How is VodaSeal™-Grout supplied?
Only as a powder, in 25 kg bags stretch-wrapped on wooden pallets, or in 1,300 kg jumbo bags. For pricing, lead time and shipping to your port, ask for a quotation.
Which test methods and standards apply?
Free swelling is tested to ASTM D5890, particle size to ASTM D422 and bleed to ASTM C940. Made under an ISO 9001:2015 quality system.
